APTA Georgia, formerly known as The Physical Therapy Association of Georgia (PTAG), was chartered in January 1980 and is incorporated in the State of Georgia as a 501(c)6 organization. APTA Georgia is a component of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) (www.apta.org), which is the national professional association. The chapter leadership consists of an Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Additional volunteer leaders are organized across six standing committees (Executive, Nominating, Ethics, Finance, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Programming), three local area networks (LANs) organized by geographical location, eight focused-interest networks (FINs) organized by specialty interest, and several appointed workgroups. The state is divided geographically into three local area networks, with a LAN Director helping to promote and engage membership within their region.
Description The Executive Office is responsible for the daily management of the professional organization. This includes written, electronic, voice, and telephonic communications, requests for information, membership support and recruitment efforts, coordination and facilitation of meetings and events, bookkeeping, nominations and elections of officers, committee reports, maintaining policy & procedures manuals, website management, record keeping, social media coordination, approval and support of continuing education content, and communications between APTA Georgia and the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the national professional association.
In order to be effective, our Executive Office must:
Be organized
Have dedicated staff to the Association with clear allocation of time to duties assigned
Be available to respond to questions & concerns in a timely manner
Be able to plan and facilitate large meetings, events, online meetings, webinars and continuing competency opportunities
Be able to manage and update the APTA Georgia website (www.aptageorgia.org) and social media properties
Be able to communicate effectively with and provide quality customer service to members and multiple constituencies.
