The ESA Equity and Grants Coordinator provides direct support to ESA’s Public Heath Entomology for All (PHEFA) applicants, interns, fellows, and ESA staff. This role will coordinate and support the administrative needs of PHEFA applicants, fellows, and interns, attend conferences and recruiting events for PHEFA, and support the DEI Committee and its members. In addition, the Equity and Grants coordinator will support other grants and grant writing efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
In performance of this job, tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
PHEFA and other grant activities
Attend conferences and other events to recruit applicants and manage exhibit booths.
Organize and administer the initial applications and interview process of fellows and interns.
Coordinate travel, housing, reimbursements, and orientation activities for fellows and interns.
Maintain PHEFA webpage.
DEI, DEI Committee, and Additional Grants
Coordinate Society DEI and DEI Committee activities.
Support additional grant activities as needed.
Maintain DEI webpage.
Volunteer and Society Support
Serve as staff liaison to volunteer committees.
Support and as needed travel to Annual and Branch Meetings.
Contribute to the functioning of the Society to ensure ESA’s Core Values (Member and customer service, Collaboration, Inclusiveness, Willingness to experiment and learn, and Accountability) are met.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: A bachelor’s degree or prior administrative experience is preferred. The following additional qualifications are sought:
Ability to manage and prioritize many different tasks simultaneously and complete tasks in a timely manner;

Strong project management skills, including organization and attention to detail;?
Strong written and verbal communication skills; a knack for simplifying complex concepts and telling the greater story;
Curiosity and interest in learning, about the Society, the science, and the broader entomological community;
Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills;
Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, Adobe applications, and comfortable with new software and systems.
Regular travel to conferences and ESA meetings. Additionally, periodic trips to Annapolis, MD, and other domestic U.S. locations are required.

The salary for this position is currently benchmarked at between $45,000 - $60,000 depending on the candidate.
