We are seeking a Member Services Representative to educate, engage, and provide excellent sales support to our current and prospective members across the country.
This role is fully remote - as such, you’ll have the ability to work from almost anywhere, though preference will be given to those in the eastern or central time zones.
What you’ll do
Reporting to and working closely with our Member Services Manager, you will be an integral part of the membership department as you provide customer service & sales support to current and prospective NACE members. Day to day, you will:
Monitor membership email inboxes and webchat system, and respond to member and prospect inquiries via phone, email, & web chat with a customized and professional approach
Perform outreach and sales calls for new, current, lapsed, and prospective members and recommend NACE products & services that meet their individual needs
Engage in active follow-up communication to ensure the conversion of prospect into members and process sales transactions
Deliver virtual member benefits overviews for individuals and organizations
Perform data entry and verification of member and organizational records in our membership database, including changes to member status, company profile checks, invoice creation, transaction updates, and on-demand receipts.
Test and provide new feedback on new features & processes within our website and database
What you need to thrive in this role
1-3 years’ experience in customer service, sales, and/or membership services; Experience working with associations or nonprofits strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, CRM systems, member databases, and virtual meeting tools is helpful and preferred
You are an outgoing people person with a customer-focused mindset. You are adaptable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated to prioritize your time independently and successfully meet deadlines
Well-rounded and effective in all forms of communication: listening, presentation, verbal & written communication (comfort in speaking to existing and potential members over the phone is a must!)
Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating effectively within a team
Ability to travel for NACE Conference & Expo and staff retreats
